Adaptando
A physical computing game which mimics the process of adaptation and shows players what it feels like to be an immigrant or refugee.
This project is made up of over 14 different components, controlling everything from wireless communication to motor function to game mechanics. Scroll over the components below for more information on each.
The branding of the experience followed its meaning; the imagery of a lightning bolt represented both culture shock and the strength required to overcome it.
The name is a Spanish cognate, meaning "adapting", reflecting the language shift that accompanies adaptation.
The 8 1/2 minute experience is captured with the following video, which allows the viewer snapshots into what the experience is like.
